The Project Listen campaign ("Campaign") is carried out by Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad ("Prudential"). Prudential is also the administrator for the Campaign. By registering to submit and/or share videos, audio recordings, and/or written stories for this Campaign, the person doing so shall be deemed to have fully and unconditionally agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions stated hereinafter:
No purchase or payment is required to participate in this Campaign. The Campaign is open to all registered participants at www.projectlisten.com.my ("Participant"). Persons below 18 years of age will need to have written permission from their parents or legal guardians.
Submission of Story
To participate in this Campaign, the Participant is required to submit a story / stories about his / her life or someone they know. It can be stories about joy, determination, strength, hope and survival. The Participant may participate in this Campaign via Online (website), Email or Postal Mail, as described below: -
a. Category 1 – Online (website)
To participate online (via website), the Participant is first required to register at www.projectlisten.com.my by providing his/her name, email, and phone number. The Participant may then choose to submit his/her story either in written, audio or video format. For audio and video formats, the Participant may choose to submit a short description or outline of his/her story in not more than 1000 characters. The Participant may choose to remain Anonymous by clicking on the Anonymous checkbox, which otherwise the real name of the Participant will be used.
b. Category 2 – Email
The Participant may also participate in this Campaign via email by submitting his/her story with his/her name, phone no., & email address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Participant may submit his/her story either in written, audio or video format. The Participant may choose to remain Anonymous by providing a seudonym in the email. Real names will be used for email submissions without seudonyms.
c. Category 3 – Postal Mail
The Participant may also participate in this Campaign by submitting his/her story with his/her name, phone number and email address, and mailing it to:

The Participant may choose to remain Anonymous by providing a Pseudonym.
Real names will be used for postal submissions without Pseudonyms.
Each story in written format must be no more than 3000 characters.
The Participant may enclose his/her photo with his/her written story. The maximum file size allowed for each photo is 2MB.
Each story in audio format must comply with the following specifications:
• Maximum length: 3 minutes
• Format allowed: MP3, WAV
• Maximum file size: 4MB
Each story in video format must comply with the following specifications:
• Maximum length: 3 minutes
• Format allowed: MPEG, AVI, WMV
• Video title: No more than 10 words.
• Description: No more than 20 words.
• Maximum file size: 40MB
All stories submitted will be reviewed by Prudential before it is published on the website.
For audio and written stories, Prudential may contact the Participant if Prudential would like to make a video out of the Participant’s story.
Prudential is entitled at its sole discretion to edit any story for length and ease of storytelling.
Submission of entries can be in Bahasa Malaysia, English or a Chinese dialect (e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien).
Every share of a Project Listen video or written story through Facebook or email will be matched with a RM1 contribution to PRUkasih.
PRUkasih is a community service project started by Prudential in 2011. Its objective is to provide financial peace of mind to low-income families living in the city, where many still do not have any form of insurance protection.
PRUkasih ensures that the livelihood of these urban poor families will not be in jeopardy in the event that their breadwinners are not able to work due to an accident, serious illness, or even death. It helps to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table should the unexpected happen.
Prudential targets to raise RM1 million for PRUkasih by the end of the Campaign period. In the event that the number of video and/or story shares collected on the Microsite exceeds the 1 million mark at any given time, Prudential’s total pledge to PRUkasih shall remain at RM1 million.
All proceeds raised from this Campaign will be utilised for PRUkasih over a period of five (5) years commencing from 2012. Prudential is entitled at its sole discretion to make any changes to this arrangement, not limited to the period in which the funds will be utilised, at any time without prior notice.
Prudential shall have the right to publish Participants’ names and details in any of Prudential's Websites, across any media platform, and/or in its promotional materials.
By participating in this Campaign, the Participant agrees that the worldwide copyright of the photograph(s), drawing(s), recording(s), cinematograph film(s), video(s), tape(s), likeness, voice recording(s), as well as any other reproduction(s) and/or adaptation(s) thereof taken of the Participant (“the Video(s) and/or Photo(s)”) and all intellectual property and ownership therein belong(s) absolutely to Prudential for Prudential’s usage for any purpose that Prudential desires including but not limited to for advertising and in any medium Prudential desires including but not limited to websites, digital media and print media.
With this, Prudential shall have unrestricted right, permission and full power to copyright, publish and republish, sell, dispose of, use and reproduce the Video(s) and/or Photo(s) in such manner, for such purpose and at such time as Prudential thinks fit.
By participating in this Campaign, the Participant hereby releases and discharges Prudential and its respective successors or assigns from all manner of actions, causes of action, debts, accounts, contracts, claims and demands whatsoever which participant may have or which participant, its heirs, executors or assigns or any of them, can, shall or may have at any time as the result of any act, matter or thing whatsoever arising out of or in connection with participation in this Campaign by Prudential in the abovementioned method(s).
By participating in this Campaign, the Participant consents to the usage of his/her name and personal details. Prudential may use and publish the Participant’s full name submitted with the Video(s) and/or Photo(s), press notices or other published matter, and may make use the Video(s) and/or Photo(s) in any such manner as it may decide.
If the Participant does not wish for Prudential to use and publish his/her full name in the Video(s) and/or Photo(s), press notices or other published matter, the Participant shall make a specific written request of the same to Prudential and informing Prudential of the Participant’s pseudonym or an alternative name for Prudential’s use.
Prudential expressly disclaims any and all liabilities arising from any lost, damaged or unsuccessful transmissions of any data exchanged via electronic transmission or postal mod pursuant to the Campaign.
By entering the Campaign, each Participant agrees that Prudential, its respective employees, officers, directors, agents, affiliates, parent, subsidiaries and representatives ("Campaign Sponsors") shall not be liable or responsible for damages, losses, injuries, rights, claims or actions of any kind in connection with the Campaign, be it by the contribution or the sharing of these stories, including without limitation, personal injury, death, property damage and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy.
Each Participant further agrees that the Campaign Sponsors shall not be responsible or liable for any entries that are late (including delayed data transmissions), tampered with, garbled, incomplete, misdirected, lost, mutilated, delayed, corrupted, duplicated or otherwise not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
Campaign Sponsors are not and shall not be responsible or liable for any injury or damage to the Participant or to any other person's computer relating to or resulting from entering or downloading materials in connection with this Campaign.
Campaign Sponsors are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission due to technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, communications line failure, server failure, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled, or delayed electronic communications caused by the Participant or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Campaign or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Campaign, or any combination thereof.
Submission of Unlawful Material
The Participant shall not submit any Unlawful Material in the course of participating in the Campaign, or use the Campaign to upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available such Unlawful Material. "Unlawful Material" shall include (but not be limited to) any sexually explicit material or any material that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable or infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of another.
Prudential is entitled in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant, and to bar any participant from participating in any other contest or promotions, permanently or for such period of time as Prudential shall decide. Prudential's decision in this matter shall be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
To avoid any submission from being an Unlawful Material, the Participant shall undertake that all the individuals appearing in the materials submitted to Prudential including but not limited to stories, written or otherwise, audio and video have consented to their identity/photo/video being submitted and used for this Campaign.
Prudential is entitled at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that it determines to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Campaign or Prudential's Website, to be acting in breach or potential breach of these Terms and Conditions. Prudential's decision in this matter shall be final and no correspondence shall be entertained. Prudential is entitled at its sole discretion to cancel, modify, suspend or delay the Campaign for any reason whatsoever.
General Terms and Conditions
The laws of Malaysia shall govern this Campaign. This Campaign is void where prohibited or restricted by any local, national, state, or any governmental laws. This Campaign is also subject to these Terms and Conditions.
Prudential is entitled at its sole discretion to amend these Terms and Conditions, and to suspend, terminate or vary the Campaign with or without notice to the Participant. The mode of notification (if any) of suspension, termination or variation shall be at Prudential's sole discretion, including but not limited to displaying the same in any of Prudential's Website.
Prudential's decision on any and/or all matters relating to the Campaign or any amendments to the same shall be final, binding and conclusive and no correspondence shall be entertained.
